Marsh Harbour snorkeling - fun and relax for you and your family

The best place to snorkel is Mermaid Reef and Beach, with its colorful reef, moray eels, and plethora of beautiful rainbow-hued fish. The reef and beach lie on Pelican Shores, the northernmost edge of the Marsh Harbour waterfront directly west of the Marsh Harbour Marina. From the center of Marsh Harbour at East Bay Street, walk east along the harbor and then head northwest until you reach the marina. Once at the marina, continue to walk west to Pelican Shores across the stretch of scrub and sand until you reach Mermaid Reef and Beach where you can enjoy the beach or else go snorkeling in the clear waters. Sea Horse Boat Rentals at the Abaco Beach Resort & Boat Harbour marina rents snorkel gear. Bakers Reef Dives is a beautiful ancient reef system that begins at the surface and immediately drops to 60 feet. Caverns, overhangs and swim-throughs abound. Fowl Cay is one of the marine preserve areas in Abaco. Beautiful coral with sharks, rays, and fish just waiting for your arrival. Sandy Point is located on the very Southern end of the island. This unspoiled area is only ever seen by local divers and Abaco Dive Adventures. Make sure to bring your camera and have the batteries fully charged. You will need it!! Blue Hole is called Farside (you must be on the “farside” of crazy if you go to the bottom). 320 feet. Open water divers can dive in this cave environment without being cave certified. It’s and awesome dive that you will never forget!! Can be done in any weather because it is inland. There are many caves on the island. They are spectacular with highly decorated rooms that are the size of football stadiums. Many different challenges await the cave certified.
